HOPE AND PEACE

            We are in the month on June which means spring is almost over and summer will arrive.  That means half a year has come and gone.  Wow!  The older I get the quicker life is passing, or at least it seems that way.

         Is life going too fast for you?  Do you feel overwhelmed?  Are you frustrated? Do you live in fear?  Well, here’s a verse that should give you hope and peace…. If you walk in its truth!!

 “Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us,” Ephesians 3:20.

 Just think, exceedingly and abundantly mean ‘out of measure’.  I don’t know about you, but I can ask and think a lot!  God says He will go way beyond this.  We won’t be able to measure the blessings He pours out on us.  Hallelujah!

         Our Father is gracious and is willing to do abundantly more than you can ask or think.  He gives peace that passes ALL understanding when we keep our hearts and minds on the right things (Phil. 4:8).

         Sometimes we need to stop and breathe and remember God’s goodness.  We are so busy doing things that we forget to be grateful for God’s blessings. There’s an old song I’ve sung all my life that says, Count Your Blessings, name them one by one, count your many blessings see what God has done.

         I’m guilty of getting up and starting the day without acknowledging the goodness of my Father.  He is the One who puts life in our bodies, air in our lungs, blood in our veins, the heartbeat in our hearts and the strength in our bones and muscles.  Without Him, we can do nothing.  Stop and give Him praise for His unfathomable blessings as the days quickly pass.

Praise the LORD!

Praise God in his sanctuary;

praise him in his mighty heavens!

Praise him for his mighty deeds;

praise him according to his excellent greatness!

Praise him with trumpet sound;

praise him with lute and harp!

Praise him with tambourine and dance;

praise him with strings and pipe!

Praise him with sounding cymbals;

praise him with loud clashing cymbals!

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD! Psalm 150
